CCTV Monitoring Services FAQ

How does it work? How do I access footage? How secure is CCTV monitoring? Find out everything you need to know here.

The Corps Monitoring Centre (CMC) is an independent remote monitoring and alarm receiving centre (ARC). We don’t have an installation and maintenance division and don’t sell directly to end users that don’t already have CCTV hardware in place. However, we are well-connected to many companies that do, and we only work with those that provide the best possible service.

If you contact our sales team on 0141 847 2026, or email sales@corpsmonitoring.co.uk, we can get a better idea of what you’re looking for and supply you with details of installation and integration companies that operate within your area.

If you already have a CCTV system installed, then we are ready to support you – give us a call on 0141 847 2026. We can discuss your needs and present solutions that are right for your environment.

Our bespoke remote monitoring service is complemented by Corps Secure, our unique reporting portal also available as a mobile app. This provides customers with full transparency of their portfolio with a live real-time view of their account. If your property has been at risk of an unauthorised access or fire, you have full visibility simply at the click of a button. Customers can even conveniently manage their finances and download invoices and statements from the same place.

Our Sentinel engineer portal allows engineers to automatically test systems and view the live signals received, eliminating the need to make calls to place systems on test and check signals. The Sentinel administration portal also allows customers to have an admin view of their account meaning they can make minor changes such as updating key holders and running reports.

Yes, and we try and make the process as easy as possible.

Costs can vary from product to product, dependent on the signalling type, the package, and the contract term. However, a few minutes with a member of our sales team will allow us to take some details, ask some questions and provide an full overview of costs associated with your requirement. Please email sales@corpsmonitoring.co.uk and one of our friendly team will be in touch.

The CMC can certainly support this by offering a dedicated desk solution where we man a desk specifically to monitor your site or portfolio. However, the most common and cost-effective solution is CCTV sensor activated monitoring. When the cameras detect a potential threat an alert is received in the monitoring centre and our trained operators review the alarm footage and immediately connect to the live CCTV cameras and take the necessary action.

As the CCTV system is typically based on site your installation/maintenance company should provide you with the tools to locally view the CCTV footage or view the CCTV footage from an app on your smartphone. If there has been an incident the CMC will be more than happy to help download footage for evidential purposes.

The Corps Monitoring Centre does not share footage from your site with any third parties, including the police, unless we have received authorisation from our client to do so.

In most cases the answer is yes. However, if the alarm signal has not reached the monitoring centre as the system was disarmed you should be able to access the local 24/7 recordings. The length of time the footage is stored is dependent on the storage space on the Digital Video Recorder/Network Video Recorder. However, this is typically 30 days.

Your installation/maintenance provider will be able to confirm the total number and types of cameras needed to protect the monitored area. If you need to be put in touch with one of our installation partners, then please contact sales@corpsmonitoring.co.uk and we’ll be pleased to help.
